Whale Watching

Witness the majestic Humpback Whales during mating season

Just two hours from Cape Town lies Hermanus, one of the world’s best land-based whale watching destinations. Every year between July and November, Humpback whales journey to Walker Bay to mate and calve, offering visitors an extraordinary close encounter with these magnificent animals. Our whale watching tour from Cape Town is a once-in-a-lifetime experience you won’t forget.

What to Expect

Your whale watching tour with Ates Africa includes transportation and the whale watching activity itself. Alongside Humpback whales, you may also spot seals, penguins, and a variety of seabirds along the coast. The tour can be done as a half-day trip from Simon’s Town (approximately 1 hour from Cape Town) or as a full-day experience to Hermanus.
